Privacy Policy — Conquer: The Card Game

    Short version: we collect only what is necessary to run the app — your email and display name. We do not sell your data, serve ads, or share your information with third parties.
  

1. Who we are

Conquer: The Card Game is an independent app published by Girma Teka under the Gagnota brand (gagnota.com). You can reach us at admin@gagnota.com.

2. What data we collect

When you create an account and use the app, we collect:

Email address — used to create and secure your account. Required for sign-in and account recovery.
Display name — the name shown to other players during online games. You choose this when you register.
Game activity — a record of games you have played, including outcomes and player names. Stored privately under your account; other players cannot browse your history.
Device push notification token — stored temporarily to deliver turn notifications. Deleted when you sign out.

We do not collect your real name, phone number, location, contacts, photos, or any financial information.

3. How we use your data

To authenticate you and maintain your account.
To display your name to opponents during online games.
To send push notifications when it is your turn in an active game.
To store your game history so you can review past results.
To manage your in-app points balance.

We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or any purpose beyond operating the app.

4. Who we share data with

We use the following third-party service to store and process data:

Google Firebase (Firebase Authentication, Realtime Database, Cloud Messaging) — operated by Google LLC. Data is stored on Google's infrastructure. Google's privacy policy applies.

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with any other third party.

5. Data security

All data is transmitted over TLS (HTTPS). Firebase enforces per-user access rules so that one player cannot read another player's private data. Your push notification token is write-only from the client and can only be read by our server functions.

6. Data retention

Your data is retained as long as your account exists. Game history is limited to your 50 most recent games. If you delete your account, all associated data (profile, game history, points balance, push token) is permanently removed.

7. Your rights and data deletion

You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data at any time. To request full deletion of your account and all associated data, email us at admin@gagnota.com with the subject line Delete my account. We will process your request within 30 days.

8. Children

Conquer is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has created an account, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

9. In-game chat

The app includes real-time text chat between players in the same game room. Chat messages are stored temporarily under the game room and are not retained after the room closes. Please do not share personal information in the chat.

10. Changes to this policy

If we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top. Continued use of the app after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
